I finished up a portraiture of Gautama Buddha last week.
While researching on where to start, i came across many different painting versions of him over the internet. Instead of trying to depict something new, i decided to contently work towards portraying an elegant face.
His face, believed to be mediating is mostly painted with his eyes closed. I wanted to give it a vibrant outlook, something to lighten up my living room, something which my mother would agree to hanging it on the walls.
This, took me days as i battled over choosing the right colours; yellow, blue and finally red. In all, if this was to teach me anything, it would be to be content and find peace from within.
